General Worker
One Day Course
Have any staff working on the road, but not necessarily doing traffic control? General worker is the entry level qualification to working on roadworks sites.
Qualification: This is NOT a Waka Kotahi TTM warrant role. There is a unit standard for this role which is completed during this workshop:
US 31957: Level 3, 5 credits. Demonstrate knowledge of working safely as a general worker on a worksite under temporary traffic management
Attendees will be issued with a certificate and a wallet sized card to carry on site upon successful completion of this course.
General Worker
The General Worker course is a three hour introduction to Temporary Traffic Management (TTM).
Assessed through Unit Standards 31957.
WHO IS IT FOR? |

This course is for workers from other industries who will be working on, or likely to visit, a worksite being managed under Temporary traffic management. It is not intended to replace a site induction, ConstructSafe, or Health & Safety Training, but it gives attendees an idea on what to expect on roadworks sites and things to look out for. |
PREREQUISITES: |

There are no prerequisites to the General Worker course. If you have no experience in working with temporary traffic management it is recommended you do the General Worker qualification first as a short introduction to the industry |
COURSE DURATION: |

Four Hours Course Outcomes: • Know how to enter and enter a worksite safely. • Know how to work safely at a worksite (around road user and construction traffic). • Able to act as a spotter for vehicle manoeuvres on site. |
